The noon lunch is one of the highlights of the reunion. An early newspaper account stated that "for awhile members thought they would be forced to get physician for those who had overeaten the good old country home-cooked food." All Clarks, Wingfields and friends are urged to be present on June 9. The GURDON TIMES stated in June of 1938 "When 'Sweet Bye and Bye' and 'God Be With You' shall be sung next year, may there be no vacant chair, but may the roll call include more names to help carry on the traditions of these two families".
