Classy Moments from GMSPublished Wednesday, May 22, 1996 in the Gurdon TimesWe are so busy, thought we might have to extend school for a few more days just to get everything done, but after serious consideration, we decided to make the most of the time remaining. Mrs. Hilt's Gas Choir entertained the student body with several "Oldies but Goodies" musical arrangements. Mrs. Hitt finds those hidden talents that students have, and works and encourages them to put them to use. A "Giant Sincere Thanks" goes to Mrs. Hitt. The master of ceremonies, Andrew Wilson, was most entertaining. We will all miss Andrews, as he will be going to the 9th grade next school year. Our loss will be GHS's gain. Mrs. Clingan's 8th grade social studies classes presented a play, "Memories Of Arkansas" and if you missed it, well, you really missed something extra special. The students presented the history of Arkansas in a humorous, but accurate historical presentation. It was teaching the history in such a way that made it fun to learn. A big thank you to those who came and supported these students. Also, a great big thank you to Mrs. Shaver, Elementery School Principal. For bringing the 2nd, 3rd and 4th graders to see the "History In Action". The Student Council conducted the installation of new officers and representatives. Mrs. Clingan, sponsor, welcomes the new "Crew" and is anxious to get started to work with them. She is really going to miss the Old Group", as they have been so cooperative, and always willing to work above and beyond the duties of position held. Several activities are planned for the last few days, but you will read about those in nest weeks' paper. Be sure and call the GURDON TIMES and let them know how much you have enjoyed our column. We hear good comments about it, and we always enjoy hearing "good" remarks, and we thank you. Until next week, remember we are just as busy as we can be making those Classey Moments at GMS.
