Published Wednesday, May 22, 1996 in the Nevada County Picayune

The 1996 Curley Wolves football candidates are winding down their off-season program and will be looking forward to a well deserved summer vacation. This Friday the squad will turn in equipment, vote on their council members and have a team meeting to discuss the summer schedule.

Here are some summer events the Prescott football fans may be interested in:

  • 7-7 summer passing league: Prescott will be competing in a four-team league designed to improve skills in passing and pass defense. The schedule will be posted in later editions. The first game will be played at Hot Springs Lakeside on June 26. Plans are being formulated for an all day 7-7 tournament in early August.
  • Southwest Football Camp: This annual event at Prescott is scheduled for July 9-11. All football players in grades 8-12 will be getting information this week.
  • All-Star Week: Prescott will be represented by Courtney Bryant on the west squad. Courtney missed getting a chance to play in War Memorial Stadium, because of a knee injury, but now he will have the opportunity on August 2.
