County ACS Tops Goal

With a goal of $10,000 the American Cancer Society exceeded its expectations as over 100 volunteers went door to door all over Nevada County with the message of help available for cancer patients, Lanora Dalrymple announces.

A total of $10,272.98 was received with 20 crusaders collection over $100 each.

To each who gave and to each who worked, the American Cancer Society expresses its deepest gratitude for the help given in the fight against cancer.

Following is a list of areas covered and the amount given from those ares:

Emmet, $661.91; Oak Grove, $39; Bodcaw, $61; Bluff City, $354.31; Cale, $43; Rosston, $84; Willisville, $256; Laneburg, $297; and Blevins, $230.

Prescott donations included: Route 2, $456.85; Route 3, $162; Route 4, $284; Route 5, $984; Route 6, $371; city, $2,467.65; and businesses, $886. Special gifts and mail-ins were $2,635.26.
