Published Wednesday, May 22, 1996 in the Nevada County Picayune

Prescott graduation is set for 7:00 Friday night at the PHS football stadium. No alternate plans have been made if it is raining. It will be held in the open air.

There are 21 students who will graduate with honors.

Of those 21 students there are five who will graduate with highest honors. Each of them has a seven-semester cumulative grade point average of 3.90 to 4.00.

They are Aaron Burke, Sarah Huett, Laura Parks, Jessica Walls and Kelly Whitmarsh.

The remainder of those 21 students have a seven-semester cumulative grade averages of 3.50 to 3.89.

Those 16 students are Kimberly Buck, Lori Burke, Kristi Coonrod, Karen DeYoung, Braith Egger, Tiffany Franklin, Jennifer Hawthorne, Melissa Little, Ricci Farris, Melinda McGough, Tyronda Miller, Bryce Phillips, Jill Stokes, Ryan Traczewitz, Scott Virden and Staci Wilson.

In all there will be 74 Prescott High School seniors getting diplomas Friday night from Jim Franks, president of the board.

In years past the ceremonies have been moved either to the gymnasium or to the auditorium (with a limited number of seating) when it rained, but not this year.

The fire that hit the main high school facilities several weeks ago also damaged the auditorium extensively. Classrooms have been set up throughout the remaining buildings, including the gymnasium, so that must be excluded.
