Athletes Given Awards At Nevada High School BanquetPublished Wednesday, May 29, 1996 in the Nevada County PicayuneNevada High School athletes were honored on May 10 at the annual athletic and academic awards ceremony at the school. Junior boys basketball-track awards: outstanding trackster, Derrick Bell; offensive award, Lamar Haynie; defensive award, Recco Holliman; rebounding award, Jerrun Lewis; hustle award, Julius Gulley, most improved, Marcus Harper; and MVP award, Derrick Bell. Senior boys basketball-track awards: track award, Joseph Young; all district, Lamarcus Page, Reginal Reed and Tavoris Blakely; all regional, Tavoris Blakely; offensive award, Ricardo Young; defensive award, Lamarcus Page; rebounding award, Joseph Young; hustle award, Reginal Reed; most improved, Eric Murphy; and MVP award, Tavoris Blakely. Junior girls basketball-track awards: defensive award, Carlesha Mixon; hustle award, Jackie House; rebounding award, Michelle Block; most improved, Pam Young; and MVP award, Romana Evans; offensive award, Shita Henry; and outstanding track, Crystal Moss. Senior girls basketball-track awards: all district and all region, Tomeka Muldrow; defensive award, Shanika Allen; hustle award, Alicia Lewis; rebounding award, Dilesha Easter; most improved, Shonda Young; and MVP award, Tomeka Muldrow; offensive award, Vanessa Evans; academic awards, Joannie Bailey, Crystal Lowe and Tomeka Muldrow; and outstanding track, Deloris Wincher.
