Okolona Youth Wins National Championship With His Goat

Trey Burchfield of Okolona, recently won Grand Champion with his LaMancha Dairy Goat Buck. The United Dairy Goat Breeders Association Show was held May 11, 1996 at Russellville.

The United Dairy Goat Breeders Association Show is an annual spring event and the only time during the year in Arkansas that bucks are shown.

Trey has raised and shown Dairy Goats for the past five years. The annual spring show in Russellville draws competitors from many states.

Trey is an active member of the Hollwood Stars and a new member of the Mad Butchers 4-H clubs. Trey is the son of Robert and Kathryn Burchfield. Trey was the 1995 Most Outstanding Intermediate Boy for Clark County.

Anyone interested in joining the 4-H club should contact the local county extension office at 246-2281. 4-H is the youth development program of the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service and is open to all boys and girls, nine to nineteen years of age.
