Emmet Elementary Assembly Is Held

An awards assembly was held Wednesday, May 22, for the Emmet Elementary School.

The introduction and welcome were given by Dr. Gene M. Ross, superintendent. Frank Henson, high school principal, presented perfect attendance awards to Brandon Hill, Heather Davis, Jacky Simmons and Shane Antley.

Scholarship awards were presented by Dr. Ross to the following students listed by grade level:

first grade: Misty Avery, Myrriah Chance, Troy Elliott, Eric Farley, Junior Hart, Jessica Hicks, Laci Owens and Ashley Parmer;

second grade: Michael Barham, John Carter, Heather Davis, Dalton Hasler, Alyssa Hickey, Lauren Otwell and Amanda Morris;

third grade: Josh Barham, Amber Carter, Clancey Cleveland, Callie Dearinger, Kermisha Glasgow, Zach Hoover and Bryant McClellan;

fourth grade: Shane Antley, Jessica Curry, Amber Gulley, Jessica Jones, Shay Jones, Haley Muldrow, Jacky Simmons and Brandy Stanhouse;

fifth grade: Kristol Barham, Pamela Hall, Michael Harvey, Nathan Henson, Ashley Hodges, Johnathon Korenek, Holly Otwell, John Parmer, Natioya Reed, Kendall Stanhouse and Susan Tipton; and

sixth grade: Courtney Lively, Devan McClellan and Kimm Westbrook.

Brenda Smith presented sixth grade awards to the following students: Good Citizen, Danny Casto; Outstanding Grades, Kimm Westbrook; Most Improved Grades, James Cripps and Grant Kirkpatrick; Most Improved Behavior, Eugene Hopson; Math Award, Devan McClellan; and Reading Award, Courtney Lively.

Cynthia Ward presented fifth grade awards as follows: Math Award, Kristol Barham; Reading Award, John Parmer, Nathan Henson and Holly Otwell; Most Improved Grades, Pamela Hall; and Most Improved Behavior, John David Holt.

Dora Mae Fee presented fourth grade awards as follows: Most Improved, Holly McKinnon and Nicole McCoy; and Art Award, Jessica Curry.

Pam Elliott presented third grade awards as follows: Most Improved, Heather Holt and Flicia Hopson; Good Citizens, Amber Carter, Kevin Hall and Denesha Smith; outstanding student, Amber Carter and Zach Hoover; Math Award, Bryant McClellan; and Reading Award, Callie Dearinger.

Carol Stacy presented second grade awards as follows: Good Citizen, Amanda Morris; Outstanding Student, Alyssa Hickey; Math Award, John Carter; Reading Award, Lauren Otwell; Most Improved Behavior, Dalton Hasler; Most Improved Grades, Steven Ball, Sheyann Helmick and Brock Richardson.

Kathy Hooper presented first grade awards as follows: Most Improved overall, Brittney Lemons and Josh Rosenbaum; Most Improved, Chaz Brzeski; Good Citizen, Lacy Owens; Outstanding Student, Myrriah Chance; Math Award, Junior Hart; and Reading Award, Eric Farley.

Diane Davis presented kindergarten awards as follows: Most Improved overall, Joseph Hickey; Good Citizens, Randi Hoover, Justin Gatlin, Christina Parmer and KT Hamilton; Outstanding Students, Kamryan Bennett and Melissa Miller; Good Citizens, Jessica Allen; Reading Award, Kristofer Scott; and Math Award, Corey Martin, Tyler Syata and Christopher Ball.

The President's Education Awards for Outstanding Academic Achievement were presented to Devan McClellan, Kimm Westbrook and Misti White.

The program was dismissed by Dr. Ross.
