BodcawAline ClausPublished Wednesday, July 14, 1999 in the Nevada County Picayune Sorry to report the death of Howard Rogers of Paris, Texas. He was a brother of Norvis Daniels. Next weekends was to have been the Rogers reunion. But he went to his heavenly reunion. Remember the family. Chris Butler was home on leave because of the death of his Grandma Betty Bain. Chad, Brandi and Wesley Butler of Cabot came for the funeral. Ruth Baker's sister, Ruby Mullins, of the Dallas area is not doing very well. She had a car wreck recently. Christy and Laura Butler of Marshall, Texas, have spent a few days with Mama Morine Butler and Grandmother Ruby Vines. The Vines family reunion was on Saturday at the Douglas building in Hope. They had a great day. Homecoming was Sunday at Shover Springs. The Dorman sisters sang there. We had three members baptized on Sunday night. The Lord's supper was also observed. Revival is this week with Bro. George Reddin as evangelist. Services are at 7 p.m. Everyone is invited. Chuck and Mickey Matthews have been traveling. They were gone for a month, visiting friends and relatives as they traveled. They ended up in California for the graduate of the oldest granddaughter. There are revivals at several churches in the area; then the next week is church encampment at Gary, Texas. Several churches in this area are attending. Russ Carlton sang at Serepta Shed on Sunday night. The revival is going on there. The Carlton family had a get together at Dierks Lake for the Fourth of July. Vickie, Marty and Russ attended.
