All-Stars Head To Tourneys

Prescott Baseball Association is sending two teams to district play.

The 9- and 10-year-old team will play at Hampton on Saturday, June 29, at 6:00 p.m. This team consists of players from the six regular season teams in Prescott including Rotary, Lions, VFW, Kiwanis, Western Auto and Emmet.

The players making up this team are Eli Ratcliff, Zach Martin, R.J. Vanhook, Adam Beaver, Josh Bryan, Miles Helmick, Aaron Bullock, Aaron Tosch, Jonathon Korenek, Cody Brown, Clancey Cleveland, Mitchell Taylor, Chris Hopper and Roger Muldrow. This team will be coached by Terry Oliver, Lance Beaver and Donnie Hunt.

The 11- and 12-year-old team will play at Sparkman on July 6 at 4:00 p.m.

This team is also made up of players from the Prescott League. They are Craig Teague, Josh Brown, Chris Glass, Casey Ward, Matthew Yates, Ryan Burdue, Brandon Ellis, Keon Sockwell, Decolen Prater, James Cripps, Trent Crow, Brandon Kirby, Andrew Birdsong and Eric Jackson. Coaches are Danny Glass, Felix Wiley and John Burdue.

Everyone should follow these young men and show support in their quest for the Little League World Series.

The Rosston all stars will be the first Nevada team to play in the tournament at Hampton. They will play Smackover in game one Friday afternoon at 4:00.

Prescott will play (game seven) the winner of game one on Saturday at 6:00 p.m.

The winner will advance to play (either Amity, Hampton or Fordyce) on July 3 in game 14. The winner of game 14 will advance to play in game 17 on July 5, and the winner of game 17 will advance to game 20.

In the meanwhile the loser of game one will go to the losers' bracket and will play at 6:00 on July 1 (against loser of game five).

The loser of game seven will drop to the losers' bracket and will play at 8:00 on July 1 (against loser of game two).

The winner in the losers' bracket could continue to face the winner in the winners' bracket on July 8 in game 20. If the team from the winners' bracket should lose July 8, another game will be played between the two teams since this is a double elimination tournament.

The winner of the tournament will advance to the state tourney in Bentonville.

The Prescott 11- and 12-year-old players will play first in the tournament at Sparkman. They will play the Bismarck-Bearden (game one) July 6 in game five at 4:00 p.m.

The loser will play the winner of game seven in the losers' bracket. The winner of game five will advance and play the Amity-Gurdon (game three) July 10 at 6:00 in game 11. The next game would be July 12 for the winner of game 11. Game 18 or game 19 will be the championship game on July 15 or 16.

Rosston opens on July 6 at 6:00 in game six against the Fordyce-Hampton winner of game two.

The winner will advance to game 12 on July 10 at 8:00.

The loser in game six will be in game 10 on July 9 and will meet the winner of game 8 of the losers' bracket.

Once more the winner of the losers' bracket will meet the winner of the winners' bracket on July 15.

The winner of the district tourney will advance to the state at White Hall.
