Laneburg Class Reunion Is HeldPublished Wednesday, June 26, 1996 in the Nevada County PicayuneFormer students of Laneburg Central High School met Saturday evening, June 15, at the Quality Inn in Hope for their bi-annual all school reunion. There were 95 in attendance, which was 22 more than the meeting in 1994. Weston Greene served as master of ceremonies, which he has done (except for a few times) since he started the reunion in 1969. He's a jolly good fellow and has done a super job, according to the former students. Betty Ann White introduced the Rev. Dr. Charles Bennett of Kansas City, a retired Methodist minister, who gave a humorous and moving account of his school days at Laneburg. In a short business meeting, Weston Greene resigned and Carl Gann of Hot Springs was elected to take his place. Margaret Ellis of Laneburg will be in charge of mailouts and registration. There were 25 people of the reunion who attended a gathering at Nevada School on Sunday, June 16. A noon meal was catered by Davis Cafe of Prescott. Everyone had a wonderful time visiting and reminiscing and are looking forward to the reunion in 1998. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
