Grant ApprovedPublished Wednesday, June 26, 1996 in the Gurdon TimesGurdon's City Hall will soon be a cooler place to visit for residents. A grant for $29,604 was approved by the Arkansas Energy Committee to be used to upgrade the municipal building's air conditioning system. In addition, the money (which does not require any kind of match) will also be used to finish out the fire department bays along with other energy conserving improvements. This means a new air conditioning unit will replace the worn out unit which cools the Gurdon Police Department. Above, Rep. Percy Malone, who worked hard so the grant would be approved, shakes hands with Gurdon Mayor Rick Smith after the committee gave its nod for the grant.
