4-H O-Rama Held

Several Nevada County 4-H members participated in the Southwest District 4-H O-Rama held June 21. The O-Rama was conducted on the Henderson State University campus in Arkadelphia.

The 4-H O-Ramas are conducted on the county, district and state levels, allowing youth to compete while learning. Activities include talks, demonstrations, talent, and more.

Nevada County youth, the activity they competed in and their awards are as follows:

  • Jay Dee Barnes, Junior Gun Safety, participant;
  • Emily Byrd, Junior Modeling, participant;
  • Chris Clarke, Senior Gun Safety, second place;
  • Samantha Clarke, Junior Human Development, fifth place;
  • Wayne McClure, Junior Bicycle, participant; and
  • Kristi Powell, Senior Vocal Talent, fifth place.
Nevada County was also awarded a 4-H Promotion Award and a 4-H Expansion Award.

Receiving trophies for their 4-H Record Books were Samantha Clarke and Heather Harris.

The Arkansas Cooperative Extension 4-H Programs are open to all youths, 7-19.
