Dean Oliver Wins Fifth At Horse ShowPublished Wednesday, July 10, 1996 in the Nevada County PicayuneDean Oliver recently competed in the Youth Championship Horse Show held in conjunction with the Texas Classic AQHA Horse Show and Breeders Futurity, at the Will Rodgers Equestrian Center in Fort Worth, Texas. This class A show is one of the top premiere shows held in the United States each year. In the 14- to 18-year-old youth Western Pleasure class, the twelve finalist were from Arizona, Tennessee, Texas, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Florida, and Arkansas. Oliver, riding his mare, Lexus, won fifth place in the exceptional class. During the Southwest District 4-H Horse Show held in Hope, Oliver, showing Lexus, won first place in the halter mares class. Dean has been picked to be on the Arkansas Horse Judging Team to compete in Fort Worth, Texas, at the American Quarter Horse Youth Association World Judging Championship in August.
