Car Hops Donating Their Tips

Gurdon Sonic car hops will be donating all their tips Friday and Saturday, July 12 and 13, to help Andrea Bailey, who has a lung disease.

Andrea was born April 19, 1991, with a disease called Intrensic Lung Disease (Dejective Airways).

Andrea was born without nasal pasages. This was discovered at age two and a half when she began suffering from shortness of breath. A pediatric specialist repaired her airways, but her lungs were so damaged she has been put on the transplant list. She also receives extensive breathing treatments and sleeps in a kroop tent which controls her oxygen level.

Andrea's insurance is only 60/40 and does not cover most of her prescriptions. The approximate cost of her prescriptions, breathing treatments and steroid injections is about $900 a month.

Whenever a lung becomes available the family will have to cover 40% of the operation's cost, but that's what the Gurdon Sonic car hops pledged to do.

With the help of everyone in Gurdon "we can make Andrea's operation possible, but we need your support," Mary Smith, owner of the Gurdon Sonic, said. "Please show your support. Every penny counts."
