Two-year-old Hunter Hammonds wasted no time in climbing into a new race car at the Gurdon City Park. The spring car, along with a horse and rocket ship, were erected at the city park recently by Gurdon coach Joe Kizer, street superintendent Jim Caldwell, and laborer Mark Francis. In addition, the trio built a new teeter-totter for youngsters of all ages to enjoy. The tennis courts at the park were also resurfaced, painted and striped. The money for these projects came from local and area donations and a matching grant from the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism.
