Assault

Published Wednesday, July 17, 1996 in the Gurdon Times

An assault was reported to the Gurdon Police Department on Friday, July 12.

According to reports, Tanisha Allen, 19, was at Raquel Green's home talking with Corey Thornton when three members of the Green family came in and threatened Thornton. The threat was then expanded to include everyone in the mobile home.

Thornton, reports state, refused to fight inside the trailer and went out into the street with a bat, which he swung at those who issued the threats.

Cathy Green reportedly said she would shoot everyone in the street.

Allen, allegedly told Thornton to give her the bat because she didn't want him getting into trouble.

While this was going on, Cathy Green had gone into the trailer and got a .380-caliber handgun. She returned to the scene of the altercation and fired one shot at Allen.

Thornton, reports state, shoved Allen to the ground.

Allen, as soon as she could, left the scene.
