Prescott 3-On-3 Team Finishes Second In Hoopfest

One local three-on-three basketball team from Prescott, Four Play, finished second in division 28 in the 1996 Little Rock HoopFest played in the streets of downtown Little Rock.

Four Play consisted of Monte Hayes, Wayne Williamson, Bernard Gulley and Tony Stephenson. The team received trophies for its second place finish and team members received a HoopFest tank top.

Hoopfest 1996 had players from 24 states, 462 different cities in which 2,174 games were played in two days.

#"The Prescott area has had teams do very well in HoopFest in the past several years," Valentine Hansen, HoopFEst founder, said. "We are always pleased to see players and fans from Prescott come to Litle Rock and do well."

HoopFest donated $40,000 to local charities bringing the 9-year total to over $380,000.

The next scheduled HoopFest will be held in Sherwood August 10.
