Three Curley Wolves Attend Razorback CampPublished Wednesday, July 17, 1996 in the Nevada County PicayuneThe inaugural Razorbacks Senior Camp was held on the campus of the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville this past weekend. Coaches from all state colleges were on hand to evaluate more than 250 senior players as they head into their final high school football season. Players were timed in the 40-yard dash, agility runs, tested for strength on the bench press and measured for their vertical jumps. The Wolves had three players to participate in the weekend camp. Rashad Johnson had a personal best and one of the top times posted with a 4.5 in the 40. He had a great day catching the ball in drills, especially when the defensive backs went one-on-one with the receivers. Linebacker Brian VanHook had a personal best of 4.9 in the 40 and picked up some valuable tips on linebacker play from coach Aldridge, the defensive coordinator for the Razorbacks. Kyron Johnson, offensive lineman/defensive lineman, did well in the strength test and ran a good 40 for his size. Tight end/defensive end Cedric Flemons had been invited to come up by the Hog coaches, but his work schedule wouldn't allow it. Coach Eddie Jackson, who escorted these three Curley Wolves to the camp, said he visited with several coaches who were impressed with these players' attitudes and intensity.
