ACS Sets Golf TourneyPublished Wednesday, July 24, 1996 in the Nevada County PicayuneAmerican Cancer Society will sponsor a golf tournament at Prescott Country Club August 10. Lanora Dalrymple outlined plans for the games at the ACS meeting Thursday at First United Methodist Church. Lunch for the tournament will be provided by ACS volunteers and prizes will be given to winners in several categories. Check with Mrs. Dalrymple or Prescott Country Club for details. Phyllis Stewart, who presided at the meeting last week, also announced the Children's Cancer Camp to be held at Camp Aldersgate August 4-7. Committee reports were by Joan Barton on home visits and Scootie DeLamar on information distributed for the Reach to Recovery Program. At the introduction of the breast cancer stamp the U.S. Post Office furnished refreshments and area for literature. Mrs. Dalrymple reported that 123 people were contacted. The October Chamber of Commerce coffee will be held at Central Baptist Church with ACS hosting and serving refreshments. Karen Krenzelok, Area IV director, reported on the International Laryngology Association meeting in Hot Springs last week. She announced the annual ACS Arkansas meeting will be October 24 in Little Rock. Nevada Unit ACS will hold the next meeting September 19 at 7 p.m. at the Methodist Church.
