Wolves Handle Lakeside In Summer Passing LeaguePublished Wednesday, July 24, 1996 in the Nevada County PicayuneLast Wednesday afternoon the Prescott Curley Wolves hosted the fourth round of the summer passing league. In game one the Wolves were able to outscore the Gurdon Go-Devils, 25-20. The Lakeside Rams took on the Wolves in game two as the home team racked up 15 points in defense and 12 on offense to win the game 27-16. The Wolves' participation for the road games earlier this summer was not very good, but several did show up for this contest, according to football coach Eddie Jackson. Al Johnston and Brent Jordan threw the ball well from the quarterback spot. Rashad Johnson, who had been out of town all summer, made his presence known with more acrobatic catches and some good defensive cover work. Jeremy and Jason Morrow, Channing Butler, Shane Pipkin, Carlos Vanhook and others caught the ball well, Jackson said. On defense, Jamie Williams, Sam Marlow, Brian Vanhook, Ben Jones and Scott Graham helped score some points. The Wolves are supposed to have two senior tight ends and two tailbacks ready to compete in 1996, but three of these four have not reported for any weight work or competition the entire summer, Jackson said Monday morning.
