Bryant Represents Wolves As All-Star

Published Wednesday, July 24, 1996 in the Nevada County Picayune

The Prescott Curley Wolves' 1995 AA undefeated state champs will be well represented next week in the annual high school all-star football game.

Courtney Bryant, all-state running back, is one of the 44 players on the west squad. Bryant's selection was in doubt with a knee injury, but his doctor released him in the late spring to begin his rehabilitation work for this prestigious event, according to Eddie Jackson, football coach at PHS. Bryant will be reporting to the UCA campus on Sunday.

Coach Jackson will be serving as the defensive co-ordinator for the west coaching staff. He said Bryant is listed on the roster as a strong safety or outside linebacker, but he may be switched to offensive if needed.

Because of the work in War Memorial Stadium, the game will be played at UCA in Conway this year, Jackson said. It has been played on Saturday night for many years, but for various reasons it has been moved to Friday night, August 2.

Local fans are encouraged to suport Bryant, coach Jackson and the entire West squad in this contest.
