Huett Named To NCA TeamPublished Wednesday, July 24, 1996 in the Nevada County PicayuneRaegan Huett, daughter of Becky and Mike Huett, has been selected to the National Cheerleading Association (NCA) All-American team. She is a senior at Prescott High School. The NCA awards All-American status to cheerleaders displaying superior qualities in all aspects of cheerleading, including leadership, showmanship and technique. This is the most prestigious and highly recognized individual award for high school cheerleaders. Because of her accomplishment, she has been invited to spend Christmas in Hawaii and perform at the Hula Bowl; she has been invited to Florida to perform in the Citrus Bowl as well. Huett has been a cheerleader for six years. She served as captain of her eighth and ninth grade squads and is the captain of the varsity squad for 1996-97 school year. She has also been selected to Who's Who Among American High School Students, All-American Scholar and the United States Achievement Academy for her cheerleading. The cheerleader sponsor for Prescott is Laura Ward. Michelle McFadden, age 9, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James McFadden, formerly of Prescott, has been accepted as a state finalist for the 13th annual Miss Michigan American Coed and Pre-Teen Pageant to be held at the Lansing Holiday Inn South, in South Lansing, Mich., on July 19, 19 and 20. Miss McFadden resides in Detroit and is sponsored by her parents. Her honors and hobbies include honor student, perfect attendance for the 1995-96 school year. Her hobbies are working on computers and dance. The Miss Michigan American pageants are open to girls betwen the ages of 8 and 19 to become state finalists in Michigan. The pageant seeks to recognize outstanding young ladies for their contributions in academics and service to their community at the present time and to encourage them to set high goals for their future.
