BURGLAR CAUGHT

Published Wednesday, July 24, 1996 in the Nevada County Picayune

An Emmet man was arrested and charged with residential burglary and assault after reportedly breaking into a mobile home in Emmet.

According to Westmoreland, Abram Bernard Nolen, 20, allegedly broke into a mobile home on Highway 67 in Emmet being occupied by a woman and her child.

She called the NCSO, with constable James Osborn responding. Osborn found Nolen hiding under a bed in the trailer, and attempted to place him under arrest.

However, Nolen reportedly resisted arrest and struggled with Osborn. The suspect was able to free himself and fled the scene.

Osborn called for backup, with Arkansas State Police Trooper Darren Neal and PPD Sgt. Walt DeYoung responding. Neal caught Nolen near the trailer, placing him under arrest.

The suspect is being held in the NC jail under a $20,000 bond.
