Bloomfield Completes Update

Published Wednesday, July 24, 1996 in the Gurdon Times

Jenada Bloomfield, Chief Deputy Collector for Clark County, has recently completed her eighth certification update through the Arkansas County Collectors Certification Program. This program is offered by Southern Arkansas University Tech at Camden in conjunction with the Center for Government Training. Ms. Bloomfield was the only deputy to receive her update at a statewide workshop held in Hot Springs on June 12, 13, and 14, 1996.

The program provides officials, such as Ms. Bloomfield, with training opportunities and challenges while remaining current with the latest developments affecting her office through workshops and seminars offered by the Center for Government Training. The general requirements for update and certification renewal is the completion of eighteen continuing education units after the thirty-hour certificate is completed.

Gary Oden, Vice Chancellor, says the program has proven to be very successful. "This now brings the total to five hundred and twenty-six county officials and/or deputies that have certified through the college's extended education program. One thousand two hundred and six county officials and/or deputies have received certificate updates which has proven to strengthen this ongoing learning program. Two thousand four hundred and thirty-six county officials and/or deputies have attended workshops over the past thirteen years representing all seventy-five Arkansas counties."

It is the goal of SAU Tech and the Center for Government Training that outstanding services be provided to Arkansas citizens by well-informed officials, such as Ms. Bloomfield.
