Adopt-A-Pet Aug. 10Published Wednesday, July 31, 1996 in the Gurdon TimesThe Humane Society of Clark County will be at Piggly Wiggly in Gurdon Saturday, August 10, to help Gurdon residents know the needs of unwanted animals. `Hands Helping Paws' T-Shirts will be given for a donation of $6 or more. More than 10 dogs from Gurdon have been cared for and adopted out in the past few months. Many more are homeless. Volunteer holding pens are needed until space opens up at the Humane Society Shelter located at Caddo Valley. The society suggest those wanting to help can made donations or memorial gifts or adopt a pet. Every pet owner is encouraged to spay or neuter their pets. Currently, there are 22 dogs at the shelter and 200 on the waiting list. All are availabale for adoption and have had shots, been wormed, adults have been spayed or neutered and received heartworm preventative.
