Elgie Arington Carman

Elgie Arington Carman, 76, of Prescott died Sunday, July 18, 1999, at Medical Park Hospital in Hope.

Mr. Carman was born on September 15, 1922, in Prescott to Jim and Minnie Yarberry Carman. He was a retired security guard, a former tv repairman for Zenith, a member of Sweet Home Baptist Church and an U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by one brother, Dorris 'Buddy' Carman and by one sister, Estelle Edwards.

Survivors include his wife, Ethel Mae Snyder Carman of Prescott; two sons and daughters-in- law, Tommy and Jane Carman of North Little Rock and Bill and Linda Carman of Bluff City; one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Charles Shupienus of Alexandria,Va.; one sister, Odelle Collier of Hope; one sister-in-law, Doris Carman of Prescott; five grandchildren; three great grandsons; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were Tuesday, July 20, at Sweet Home Baptist Church with Bro. J.W. McAdams and Bro. Harley Sisson officiating. Burial was in Sweet Home Cemetery under the direction of Brazzel-Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott.
