Published Wednesday, July 31, 1996 in the Nevada County Picayune

Two Hope men were arrested Thursday and Friday, with both being charged with residential burglary and aggravated assault.

According to Jim Westmoreland, criminal investigator with the Nevada County Sheriff's Office and Prescott Police Department, Ronald Epps, 27, and Javier Buck, 26, were picked up on warrants stemming from the incident, which occurred on June 21.

Westmoreland said the two allegedly broke into the home of a woman by kicking in a door.

At the time, she was entertaining a guest. An altercation ensued, with a weapon owned by the victim allegedly being pointed at her. The woman and her guest were injured in the fight, with the suspects fleeing the scene.

Epps was held on a $5,000 bond, while Buck was released on his own recognizance.

Residential burglary is a class B felony, while aggravated assault is a class D felony.
