We had a wonderful soul stirring revival last week at New Bethel AME Church at Rosston. We had a packed house every night. Rev. Wallace Ingram really did preach good. I missed one night. I had to go to the emergency room in Hope. I don't know what happened to me, but I was really sick. My neighbors really did stick by me.

The funeral for Amelia McNeely Allen was held Saturday in Texarkana. She was buried at Whites Cemetery in Rosston. She was the wife of Ray Allen.

Freddie Dixon and wife visited George and me Sunday afternoon.

The marriage ceremony of Tammy Lupo and Bryant C. Lewis was held Saturday, July 10, at Faith Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church in Grand Prairie, Texas. Tammy is the daughter of Mrs. Velma Madison Lupo and Rev. Emanuel Lupo from Dallas, Texas. Attending the wedding were Aunt Vera Purifoy from Rosston and Aunt Geneva Madison from Berkeley, Calif. I am sure it was a lovely wedding.

Freddie L. Young and wife Nora Rogers visited George and me Wed. Freddie is the brother of Benora Box.

Our annual homecoming at New Salem will be held the second Sunday in August.

We need your help on the up-keep of the cemetery. We have a very good caretaker. We don't want to lose him. We are asking for $20 per family this year. If you cannot attend, send your dues to Mrs. Lula Q. Kendrick, secretary, Rosston, AR 71858. I have been secretary for 20 years or more.

Missionary Tessie Scott will be in a revival this week at the Church of God in Christ at Oak Grove.

Elizabeth 'Sugar Dee' Hughey recently was given a trip to San Francisco by her cousins, Lovina and Leon Simpson. When she arrived in California a wonderful surprise awaited. Her cousins had arranged a one week all expense paid trip to Hawaii. They left the next day for Honolulu. Sugar Dee had a grand time. So many beautiful things to see, so much to do. She walked and looked and walked and shopped, visited many tourists attractions, fancy restaurants, saw great stage shows. She returned to San Francisco and visited more cousins for a few days. She returned home with wonderful memories of a great vacation.
