GMS Supply ListPublished Wednesday, August 7, 1996 in the Gurdon TimesGurdon Middle School has released a Materials and Supply list for the school year 1996-97. Fifth grade: Loose leaf notebook paper; Number two lead pencils (several); colored ink spiral notebooks for Reading and Spelling; zippered pencil case; and pencil sharpeners. Girls and Boys P.E.: T-shirts (NO cut-offs, midriff type, halter type and NO indecent slogans); shorts under school regulations; white socks; and tennis shoes. Six grade: Loose leaf notebook paper; number two lead pecnils; glue; markers or crayons; map pencils; shcool box; sicissors; two spiral notebooks; five folders with pockets and brads. NOTE: Do NOT substitute Trapper folder for folders described above. Girls and Boys P.E.: T-Shirts (NO cut-offs, midriff type, halter type and NO indecent slogans); shorts under school regulations; white socks; and tennis shoes. Seventh and eighth Grades: Science: lead pencils; loose leaf notebook paper, ink pens (not blue or black) for revising; two folders with brads and pockets; loose leaf notebook paper; markers/crayons/map pencils; scissors and glue. Seventh Grade: Social Studies:number two lead pencils; loose leaf notebook paper (NO spiral notebooks); three folders with brads and pockets; construction paper; typing paper; blue or black ink pens for projects; and money for Jr. Scholastics (notice given when price is known.) Eighth grade: numberr two lead pencils; three folders with brads and pockets; blue or black ink pens; loose leaf notebook paper (NO spiral notebooks); typing paper; and money for "Update" (amount given later). Math: Three ring notebook with one and one half or two inch rings just for math class (no Trapper Keepers); loose leaf notebook paper; graph paper (quadrile paper or planning paper); zipper pencil bag or zip-lock bag; number two lead pencils; ink pens; markers; sicissors; six inch ruler; compass; protractor; and subject dividers. $7.50 for Math Magazine. Art Classes: Scissors, glue, number two lead pencils, ruler, crayons or markers, and spiral notebook. Middle School dates to remember: August 9 and 10 Athletic phyusicals' (makeup day). August 9, Homeroom teachers posted on front and back door. August 12-24, Teacher Inservice Day. August 13, Open House, 7:00. August 19, First day of school.
