Scrimmage Games Are Sceduled For SquadsPublished Wednesday, August 21, 1996 in the Nevada County PicayuneThe Prescott Curley Wolves and Cubs will be dividing their squads for a couple of scrimmage type practices. The Cubs started practice later this year so the `meet the Cubs' night will not be in conjunction with the Wolves, but will be held next Tuesday, August 27, at 7:00 p.m. This will be a "soap game" which means the admission is one bar of soap per person. The Wolves will have a third-down scrimamge on this date also. This Friday night, August 23, will be the annual Maroon-White scrimmage. The Wolves will have their press day and photo sessions at 5:30 and will take the field at 7:30 for the intra-squad contest. The admission for this game will be one bath-sized towel per two persons. The squad will be divided as evenly as possible, but because of team depth they will play only three periods. The first 12-minute quarter will be group one while group two will comepte in the second period. The last period will be a 15-minute session with players substituted as the coaches see fit. On the following Friday night, August 30, the Wolves will travel to Hot Springs Lakeside for their last scrimmage before opening the 1996 season at Ashdown. When Hope comes to town the second Friday in September, that will be three weeks of AAA sized opponents, which should test the mettle of the Wolves.
