Tots Shots UrgedPublished Wednesday, August 21, 1996 in the Nevada County PicayuneNevada County Health Unit, Operation KidCare and Shots for Tots urge parents to have their children immunized at two, four and six and 12 to 15 months. At 1495 West 1st North in Prescott on Mondays, 8:00-11:30 a.m. and 1:00-6:00 p.m., Tuesday-Friday 8:00-11:30 a.m. and 1:00-4:00 p.m. parents can get kids caught upon their immunizations. "The goal of Operation KidCare and Shots for Tots is to have 90% of all Arkansas children age appropriately immunized by the end of 1996," according to Janet McAdams, administrator. "Immunizations protect children against nine different dangerous diseses that are still out there, and our after hours clinic allows parents to bring their children in for those important shots without missing time from work." According to the Arkansas Department of Health 89% of Nevada County children who turned two in 1994 had recieved all of their immunizations. "It's important that parents remember that there is a series of immunizations their child needs before the age of two in order to be fully protected from these diseases," said Janet McAdams, administrator. "One visit for immunizations will not do it." Parents are encourged to bring their child's immunization records with them. For more information, call 887-2004 or 887-2211.
