Vandals StrikePublished Wednesday, August 21, 1996 in the Nevada County PicayuneVandals hit the Prescott Country Club late last week on either Thursday night or early Friday morning. The vandals apparently broke into the club and got keys to a golf cart, along with taking another golf cart from behind the shed. The two carts were run headlong into each other around the sixth hole, and signs on the second hole of the course were also run over and destroyed. A golf cart belonging to Rodney Burris (pictured above) either shorted out and caught fire or was deliberately burned and completely demolished. The second cart involved belonged to the PCC. Each cart costs between $1,200 and $1,500 to replace. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
