Blood Drive Is FridayPublished Wednesday, August 21, 1996 in the Gurdon TimesA blood drive will be held this Friday in Gurdon from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. The Arkansas Region of American Red Cross Blood Services will be at Gurdon Senior Adult Center at 410 East Main. Donors are badly meeded by the Red Cross. Every seven minutes someone in Arkansas needs blood. Accident victims, surgery patients, newborns, burn victims, cancer patients and many other depend on blood and blood products seven days a week, 365 days a year. The Arkansas Region of American Red Cross provides the total supply of blood and blood products to 52 hospitals in 54 Arkansas counties. each day, at least 300 units of blood must be collected to ensure our hospitals have an adequate supply. If you are 17 years of age or older and weigh a minimum of 105 pounds, you can donate blood for an Arkansan on August 23. For more information, contact the American Red Cross at 1-800-GIVE- LIFE.
