Plans For 16th Festival UnderwayPublished Wednesday, August 21, 1996 in the Gurdon TimesPlans are being made for the 16th Annual Gurdon Forest Festival, to be held Saturday, Oct. 26 on Gurdon's Main Street. The Gurdon Community Development and Entertainment Club (CD&E Club) sponsors the event which features a large arts and crafts show, antique and classic car show, motorcycle show, country music, a parade, gospel singing and a big street dance, according to festival coordinator Freddie Horne. Other special events for the festival have been planned throughout the day. The War Memorial Park Midway show, along with other rides, games, "jail," train, food concessions and drawings will be available for a full day of fun. Booths for arts and crafts are $15 each, and registration for the car show is $10. All food concessions have been reserved. The arts and crafts show and car show, along with other events, will be free to the public. At this time, Horne said, acts are being booked for all bandstand shows.
