McGear Attends CAPS

{Molly McGear, daughter of Chester and Cynthia McGear of Arkadelphia, was a delegate to a 4-H workshop, called CAPS, recently.<} {McGear attended the three-day citizenship workshop that was held at the C.A. Vines Arkansas 4-H Center at Ferndale near Little Rock.<} {The workshop was sponsored by the Cooperative Extension Service, University of Arkansas. Seventy-seven 4-H members from across Arkansas attended the workshop. 4-H is the youth development of Extension.<} {CAPS, which stands for Citizen Action Produces Strength, teaches delegates citizenship skills.<} {Highlights of the workshop included a talk by U.S. Senator Dale Bumpers (D-Ark.) and a tour of the state capitol. They also talked to a representative of the governor's office and developed a plan for a project in their count.<} {Anyone interested in joining a 4-H club should contact the Clark County Extension office at 246-2281.<}
