Wolves Youth Camp Has 41 At First Date

Published Wednesday, August 28, 1996 in the Nevada County Picayune

The Third Annual Wolves Youth Camp started Saturday, Aug. 24, with a new format. In the past, the camp was held in late June, but for various reasons the coaching staff wanted to conduct these sessions closer to football season. We had 41 young football players show up on a warm August morning to drill on offense, defense and kicking game skills. Day two will be held Saturday, Aug. 31. Campers need to report to the field house by 8:30 a.m. to fit helmets and camp T-shirts. Sometime during this session, we will have a group photo. These young men will get a chance to work with each football coach as well as some of the senior Curley Wolves. Assisting in the first day were Coach Jim Haynie; Rashad Johnson, wr/db; and Ross Cowling, te/de. Day three will be held Sept. 7. This session will wrap up the camp with several events tested and awards presented at 11:45 a.m.
