New ArenaPublished Wednesday, September 4, 1996 in the Nevada County PicayuneThere will be a new arena for contestants to show their swine and other livestock entries for the Nevada County Fair this year. Several members of the Nevada County Fair Board have been working hard to improve the fairgrounds. Because of their efforts, and the generosity of SMI Joist of Hope, there will be a new livestock show arena. Tim Clarke, county agent, said SMI donated the metal trusses and tin, while Nevada County pitched in with the gravel. Jake Tyree made his presence known with the lumber and wood necessary to complete the project. Others simply donated their sweat and determination to get the building up.
