Country Club Vandals

Published Wednesday, September 4, 1996 in the Nevada County Picayune

Two juveniles are believed to have been involved with vandalism at the Prescott Country Club Aug. 15.

According to Westmoreland, a 16-year-old Prescott youth has admitted his guilt in the matter and implicated a 17-year-old Atlanta, Ga. youth as well.

Two golf carts were damaged in the vandalism, with one ending up burned beyond repair. Damage was also done to the golf course, with garbage cans being overturned as well.

Westmoreland said witnesses saw a vehicle leaving the country club the night of the vandalism, and informed authorities. This information helped lead to the suspects.

"We urge anyone with any information about a crime to call either the NCSO or PPD," Westmoreland said.

"Sometimes what may seem insignificant at the time, when compiled with other information, can help solve a crime. All information received is kept confidential."
