Group Helps During Arkansas' Clean-Up

Published Wednesday, September 11, 1996 in the Nevada County Picayune

The Arkansas Department of Community Punishment participated in the Arkansas beautification project that was held on Saturday, September 7.

Adult probationers performed community service by picking up trash along a three-mile stretch of Highway 387 leading into White Oak State Park.

Supervising the work crew was probation officer Jimmy Alexander and work program advisor Kathryn Hopkins.

The project's success, according to a news release, is due to the support and cooperative efforts of prosecuting attorney Brent Haltom, Nevada County Judge Barham and White Oak State Park superintendent Ron Salley.
