Norvelle WrenPublished Wednesday, September 18, 1996 in the Nevada County PicayuneNorvelle Wren, 94, of Prescott died Saturday, September 14, 1996, in Prescott. Born August 23, 1902, in Sutton, she was the daughter of Sam Scott and Pearl Hudson Wren. In 1939 she began working for Prescott Federal Savings and Loan Association (the predecessor to Southwest Federal Savings and Loan) and continued with them in various capacities for 40 years and served on their board of directors for 36 years. On her retirement in 1979, she was commended by the board of directors for her steadfast service and was elected secretary emeritus of Southwest Federal Savings and Loan. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Prescott. Survivors include two nieces, Jennie Wren Johnson of Charleston, S.C., and Bette Carole Reglin of Plano, Texas; and two grand nieces and two grand nephews. Services were held Monday at First United Methodist Church in Prescott with Revs. Dale Diffee and Jerry Westmoreland officiating.
