Pageant Deadline Oct. 1Published Wednesday, September 25, 1996 in the Gurdon TimesEntry deadline for the 1996 Forest Festival Pageant has been set for Tuesday, October 1. By this date entrants should have turned in entry forms and pictures for the newspaper. Black and white 5x7 glossy prints for photogenic judging must be in by Saturday, October 12. The pageant is set for Saturday, October 19, at 7:00 p.m. in the Gurdon Middle School auditorium. The rehearsal schedule will be as follows: Saturday morning October 19, 9:00 to 9:45 Tiny Miss; 9:45 to 10:30 Little Miss; 10:30 to 11:15 Princes; and 11:15 to 12:00 Queen. This rehearsal will be for intructional purposes only. Those girls wishing to rehearse further may do so between 12:00 noon and 5:00 p.m. on the day of the pageant. The age divisions for competitions will be the same: ages 3-5, Tiny Miss; 6-8, Little Miss; 9-12, Princess; and 13-18 Queen. There is no regulation for dress except in the Queen's division. The contestants are required to wear pagenat dresses. There will be an interview session with the judges at 3:00 p.m. on October 19 for contestants in the 13-18 age group, the Queen contestants. Girls are to wear fashion attire of their choice. Entry is $30. Entry forms and fees, as well as pictures, may be picked up and returned to Billy Wells at Billy's Main Street Florist.
