Billy `Roy' CarterPublished Wednesday, September 25, 1996 in the Nevada County PicayuneBilly Royce `Roy' Carter, 49, of Prescott died Sunday, September 22, 1996, in Prescott. Born May 5, 1947, in Brummitt, he was part owner of D and D Training Center and previous owner of Running `C' Stables and Running `C' Feeds, an avid sportsman and well-known horse trainer at Oaklawn and Louisiana Downs. He was a member of Prescott Masonic Lodge, member of Arkansas Breeders Association and he was a member of United Throughbred Trainers Association. Mr. Carter was a Baptist and also a former superintendent of U.S. Contractors in Clute, Texas. Survivors include his wife, Donna Carter of Prescott; a son, Chase Royce Carter of St. Louis, Mo.; two daughters, Brandy LeAnne Carter of Prescott and Wendy Carter of Houston, Texas; a stepson, Brandon Tullis of Prescott; his father, Royce Marion Carter and stepmother, Margaret H. Carter of Amity; his mother, Bertha Herring Warner and stepfather, Taft Warner of Lonoke; a brother, Joel Warner of Cabot; four sisters, Barbara Daughety of Richardson, Texas, Linda Sunwall of Little Rock, Tafa Dunlap of Spartenburg, S.C., and Phyllis Harris of Olive Branch, Miss.; and one grandson. Services were held Tuesday, Septmeber 24, at Brazzel-Cornish Funeral Home chapel in Prescott with Rev. Neal Ridling and Rev. Larry Jones officiating.
