The rebuilding will occur where the concentration of an April 1 fire near the high school offices. The auditorium, computer classes and foyer received a majority of the damage in the fire. Rebuilding will include upgrades, some required by law. These include access into the auditorium and stage. In addition, the stage will have access to the band room (located behind the stage) as well as two new dressing rooms. Vents and ventilation will be added to the structure as well. DeLoach was the original contractor in when the structure was built. The whole complex cost just a bit more than the rebuilding on a portion of the building. During the board meeting, members heard from disgruntled parents inside the city limits concerning rates for riding the bus. No change was made to the policy which raised rates to $25 per student during a meeting earlier this year. In the past a discount was given if there were two or more children from the same household. The cost to ride the bus is about 14 cents a day. When the city route was first started in 1972, the fee was 25 cents. The board examined several reports during the meeting, including one on utility costs. Claims paid by the district's insurer at the time of the April fire were reviewed by the board also.
