Fair Results Given

With the conclusion of the 1996 Nevada County Fair, the next best thing is announcing the winners and there were a lot of them. The entries were numerous in most divisions, just as the fair board desired.

First place winners in the food preservation, junior divison are: Brad Harris, grape jelly; and Heather Harris, two first, muscadine jelly and muscadine jam.

First place winners in the pumpkin/watermelon, junior division are: Ryan Burdue, watermelon; and Riley Godwin, pumpkin.

First place winners in the fall gardens, field crops, junior divison are: Gus Kisselburg, yellow squash; Kyle Pennington, four firsts, sunflower head, ornamental popcorn, red potatoes, bell pepper; Quenten Glass, five firsts, okra, banana, egg plant, purple hull peas, mix vegetables; Cody Jackson, pear; Chad Jones, ornamental gourd; and Joey Collins, yard long green beans.
