FIRE SUSPICIOUS

Published Wednesday, October 2, 1996 in the Gurdon Times

Arkansas State Police are investigating a fire which destroyed a home in Gurdon Wednesday, Sept. 27. An explosion, according to ASP, ripped through the brick structure around 10 p.m., injuring one man, Andre Barnes, 30. The house was owned by James Marks, who was not home at the time of the blast. Barnes suffered burns to his hands and arms and was taken to an Arkadelphia hospital where he was treated and released. The fire is under investigation, as authorities work to determine the cause.
