Curley Wolves Pounce On Leopards, 31-13 (cont)Published Wednesday, October 16, 1996 in the Nevada County Picayunees for the Wolves for a total of 132 yards. Johnston added 76 yards on three carries. Prescott was penalized eight times for 75 yards. De Queen was penalized eight times for only 55 yards. Each team had four turnovers. This week the Curley Wolves will travel to Fountain Lake, just barely above Hot Springs on Highway 7 North. The Fountain Lake Cobras are new to the 7AA Conference, and fairly new to Class AA. It is another of the growing schools nestled around Hot Springs. The Cobras are 4-2, having defeated Jessieville, 32-0; Lewisville, 51-20; Fouke, 35-13; and (surprise! surprise!) last week Class AAA Lake Hamilton, 52-40. As Prescott fans can see, the Cobras are capable of scoring bigtime, so the score could be big this week. They have lost to Hot Springs Lakeside, 23-6, and to De Queen, 28-21. The Cobras are 1-1 in the conference. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
