McKinnon Places Second At State FinalsPublished Wednesday, October 23, 1996 in the Gurdon TimesKatie McKinnon of Gurdon was awarded second place in the statewide finals of the 4-H Beef Ambassador Competition at the Arkansas State Fair in Little Rock on Saturday, October 12. McKinnon received a $100 cash prize for her "Arkansas Medley" dish. The purpose of the 4-H Beef Ambassador Competition is to teach the nutritional and economic value, cooking principles and versatile use of beef, and to understand the importance of beef as an agricultural product.
