McKinnon Places Second At State Finals

Katie McKinnon of Gurdon was awarded second place in the statewide finals of the 4-H Beef Ambassador Competition at the Arkansas State Fair in Little Rock on Saturday, October 12. McKinnon received a $100 cash prize for her "Arkansas Medley" dish.

The purpose of the 4-H Beef Ambassador Competition is to teach the nutritional and economic value, cooking principles and versatile use of beef, and to understand the importance of beef as an agricultural product. Contestants prepared a gound beef dish for judging and were scored on on an illustrated talk on the promotional aspect of beef.
