By the time the buzzer sounded ending the third period, Emmet trailed 62-18. Shane Rothenberger led all scorers with 18 for Emmet, while Adam Saunders paced Ouachita with 15. Emmet failed to hit a three-point shot, while the Warriors made good on three. The Eagles were seven of 27 at the line, but Ouachita was 16 of 27. The Lady Pirates scalped the Lady Eagles 24-10 in the second game of the season. Emmerson took a 3-0 lead after one and went to the locker room at the half ahead 5-0 before Emmet got on the board in the third. At the end of three, the Lady 'Bucs led 14- 4. Hodges again led Emmet with five, while Robinson paced Emmerson with 11. Emmet was four of 13 at the line, while Emmerson was one of nine. The Junior 'Bucs plundered the Emmet boys 62-16 in their game. Emmerson held leads of 25-8 after one, and 46-10 at the half before taking a 56-11 lead into the final frame. Jim Faulkner led Emmet with seven points, including a three-pointer, while D. Hardwell canned nine for the 'Bucs. As a team, Emmerson hit three treys.
