Fouke Panthers Out Rush Curley Wolves; Prescott Still Wins, 33-8 (cont)Published Wednesday, November 6, 1996 in the Nevada County PicayunePanthers put together their only scoring drive, thanks in part to a face mask penalty against Prescott. The TD was handled by Miller from the one with a 2-point conversion successfully handled for eight points. The game's leading rusher was Jacob Rawlinson of Fouke with 122 yards on 20 carries. Marlow rushed 11 times for 75 yards offensively for Prescott. Johnston attempted 12 passes, completing six for 90 yards. The other six fell incomplete. Miller attempted 20 passes for the Panthers, completing seven for 107 yards. He was intercepted three times and he had 10 passes fall incomplete. Prescott had no turnovers in the game while Fouke had six. The Wolves were penalized seven times for 65 yards. Fouke was penalized 11 times for 100 yards. This week may be a tough one for Prescott. They will play the Fordyce Redbugs Thursday night, not Friday. Fordyce and Prescott are tied for the second position with 4-1 conference records. Overall Prescott is 7-2 (the second loss being a forfeit to Ashdown). Fordyce is 5-3 overall. The overall record doesn't count as the two teams are preparig for the state play-offs. The winner Thursday night will be in second place and will get a better position in the brackets of the play-offs, with the first game being played at home. You can bet Fordyce will be trying to get that game at their home. But Prescott can, and should, take the victory Thursday. It may be a game of who wants the spot the worst.
